Our understanding of the regularity and uniqueness problems for the Navier-Stokes equations is still insufficient. On the other hand, for various model equations, interesting scenarios of regular/singular behavior and non-uniqueness have emerged. After reviewing some background material, I'll discuss some of the scenarios.
